If you're the one laid off, maybe a lot. if you're the one on hold longer cause
all CSRs are temporaily busy maybe its something. If you're the one with the
screwed up bill, and Mabel the one who knew how to fix those snafus is one of
the ones laid off, maybe something.
If you deal with Sprint, as an employee, supplier, stock holder or a customer
its could mean a heck of a lot more than "so what".
By the way in the Business section of my Newspaper this weekend, the
Constitution-Gazette, says Dell Computer is replacing some of its phone
support in India with Americans back stateside. Maybe that pendulum is getting
ready to swing back this way.

This is really not new news, as Lauer was quoted previously they would be
consolidating the divisions, a week or two weeks ago. What is new is the
figure of 2000.
The market apparently likes the announcements as the stock is up this
morning ...
This layoff is not just something FON / SPCS is doing, as Verizon and ATT
have recently announced much higher layoffs of 10% of their respective
workforces.

Do you post "So-and-so announces layoffs" to every relevant newsgroup?
Any time a company lays off a large number of employees, customer service
is usually impacted.
What's your point?

Layoffs are often good for the stock price, something Steven is not likely
to acknowledge, as it doesn't serve his deceiptful plan.

With all the press coverage [especially on CBS] of this practice and the
focus on who is using H1B for what, there is likely a bit of public backlash
coming, so I think that some of these companies are trying to get out from
underneath it before it becomes a greater issue.

Layoffs are often good for the stock price,
That is true. It makes cost go down in the long run, although Sprint has also
announced a nice severence package for those affected, which will make costs go
up in the short run.

Careful Larry, you'll break your arm by patting yourself on the back by making
this out to be no big deal for SprintPCS.

Re: Sprint announes layoffs.
What is amazing is some companies that use India for handling email (like
Sprint) have those folks use fake Anglos names to sign their email.

Little Bobby Smith the shill apologist lamely attempts to insult someone for
having the temerity to post that Sprint is laying folks off
> You are still a very silly, little effeminate boy ...
You only scare folks away from the newsgroup and SprintPCS by such insults.

Keep trying. Your lame insults only show how you have zero ability to disuss an
issue. In this case Sprint losing money and having to lay off 2000 folks. I
guess you cant spin that into something good.
And insulting posters certainly does not make SprintPCS look good.
P.S. My father is looking down from heaven in contempt at you.
