I have read several FAQs and threads on various forums about getting good
deals from retention when your contract expires. Some of them have
conflicting information. Some people say that if you don't like the deal
you're offered, say thank you and hang up, then redial in a few
minutes/hours/days and you can start bargaining all over with a new person.
Supposedly, you can repeat that as often as you like, until you're offered
what you want. Others say that Sprint logs all calls, which would mean that
calling more than once wouldn't do you much good, since they can just look
in the notes and see that you probably won't cancel the service. Sprint
employees, what do you think?

I'm no SPCS employee. In saying that, it sounds like you haven't tried
calling yet. Before you do call, you should probably know what the other
providers are offering in plans, plan options, phones etc, which are more
competitive than what you currently have with SPCS. Speaking of which, what
plan & options you have now, and how long you've been a customer?

Re: Blacklisted by Retention?
I've actually called and gotten a retention plan 2 or 3 times in the past
couple years. I have autopay, so Sprint doesn't have many problems with me,
as far as bill paying goes. My contract just expired again, and I would
like to get some goodies in exchange for extending for another year, and
I've already called them a couple times right after Thanksgiving and they
didn't offer me anything better than what I already had. I currently have:
300 anytime, 3000 n&w
8 p.m. n&w
$30/mo
Pretty basic, I know, but it gets me by. I would like to get 7pm n&w or at
least more daytime minutes for the same price but I refuse to commit for
another 2 years.

Re: Blacklisted by Retention?
Unless you have FIMF on that plan, you can probably do as well or better
with another carrier in your area.
