can you still switch your plan to the no contract deal by paying $10 extra a month? if so i could do that then cancel and take my number wherever correct?

No, you have to finish your current Advantage Agreement. However
upon completing it, you will be then be on the same plan at the same
cost, just that you would be month to month, without having to pay $10
more per month. After your current Advantage Agreement is over, yes you
can take your number wherever.

If you have completed your contract you can switch plans for $10 additional.
Jerome was correct, if you are in the middle you would basically be charged
the ETF for cxl your contract to go month to month. The 7pm buy down rate
is the only plan I know of that is mandatory to have a 2yr contract to get.
