3588i Nokia problems

Problem:

1. In analog mode, getting feedback (squeal), especially when volume
is set to mid-level and microphone is covered by the Nokia leather
case (has a plastic strap on bottom). If you hold your finger over the
bottom of the phone, it really gets bad.

2. Constant hiss when using earbud (Nokia "comfort noise" is not
comforting to me)

3. Does NOT automatically switch to analog roam, must force.

On points 1 & 2, you should probably take your phone to your local SPCS
store, get the technician, explain the problem and have the phone tested.

On #3, what Mode setting do you have on your phone under the roaming option?
Automatic, SprintPCS only? If it's set for automatic, you should
automatically switch to roaming (either digital or analog, depending on what
roaming agreements are made with other providers in your area) when leaving
SPCS's coverage area. If it's not doing that, then again ... get the phone
tested.

Bob, I have the phone in the 'automatic' mode and it does not switch
automatically to analog. Have to force it. Also cannot receive calls
or voicemail in analog (I think that's normal however).

Still would like to know if anyone has an 'analog squeal' with this
phone as described below... happy holidays.
