So EBay is a great little service. I managed, even after=20
shipping, to save a bit of money on a VM4500 there. =20
Arrived USPS today, well packed. Spotless phone. The=20
employee rep took the ESN and, since I'm an employee, let=20
me have my MSL and confirmed my phone number and MSID to=20
let me program it myself. I was interested in the 7PM=20
option so I let her sell it to me (yes, they *do* upsell us=20
    employees).

And now, 5 hours later, guess what I'm doing.

I'm on hold trying to find out why I can't take or make=20
calls on my new phone. The web site's updated to the new=20
phone, so that would at least suggest she did her part=20
right (swapping ESN's is only a whisker more difficult than=20
editing a text box). My old N400 is still accessing=20
voicemail when I turn it on, so I have a pretty good idea=20
    where the problem is.

But, since I'm sick today, and not at work, I have to see=20
if I can get someone to fix up whatever it might be.

So have a good laugh, folks, I'm going for a ride.

Rob, when I left work yesterday at 5pm, provisioning time was at 24
hours. From 4pm-5pm, we got 3 emails :"Provisioning is at 8 hours",
"Provisioning is now at 12 hours", and 'Provisioning is now at 24 hours".
Your ESN change is more than likely stuck in the hell that is ServicePro.

So, Rob, how soon can we expect to see a "SPRINTPCS SUXXXXX!!!!!!!" post
from you in which you declare that SprintPCS is the worse corporation ever
created and predict that it will be bankrupt and completely out of business
within the next six months? I fully expect a Phillipe-style rant from you!

Of course they upsell to employees ... it obviously works

I will hazard a guess .... typing a message to be posted in

Wow... don't they give you guys employee discounts? Guess not, since
you shopped elsewhere. How cheap is that?

I was going to do an ESN change yesterday (from the A-660 back to an
8100). So glad something came up and I couldn't make it to the store
    to do the exchange!

Thanks for the chuckle. Hope your "ride" isn't too bumpy. Let us know
how you like your phone once it's working.

You're assuming that they don't get discounts. A used phone is likely to
be cheaper than a new phone even with a discount.

You are saying that the this was just a esn change glich, which
sometimes occurs (with any carrier) not that it was because you got it
from ebay or another supplier, right.

Also, should you need warranty repairs on this unit, sprint would take
    care of it right??

    G*D F&^*ING DA^%IT, they suck and they're the WORST kind of=20
    idiots!

There, how's that? Actually, the rep warned me about the=20
24 hours once I got through hold, and then, one hour later,=20
I was getting notifications about my PCS email, so I=20
checked, and call were doing their thing as planned.

Of course, as I knew it would, the ESN swap did *not*=20
propagate to the Vision side of things. So I had to call=20
back in. After 20 minutes on hold, I bet the vision tech=20
my old ESN was still setup in Vision (the utility Leisa=20
referred to, ServicePro). I was right. I told just=20
deprovision and reprovision and I'll wait for it to do its=20
thing. 3 hours later, the update happened, and I've been=20
good to go since. Now I'm waiting at least a week before I=20
even attempt to try out RL.

Yeah, we get 'em. Not great, but they're there. I saw a=20
5500 auction on EBay, though, that appeared to be slipping=20
under everyone's radar. So I went for it, and saved a nice=20
    bit on the phone.

Took three calls, but I'm OK so far. I'll you know how RL=20
goes when I sign up for it next week.

Sick enough to lay myself open to all kinds of retribution=20

Nah, I think I'm fighting something. Woke feeling like I=20

EBay had nothing to do with it. That much is true. ESN=20
swaps are... problematic... on our system right now. Voice=20
sets up no problem. Vision never "sees" the swap. Or at=20
least does so rarely. Out of 20-30 calls a day right now,=20
I'd say 60% of them are this very problem. Nothing=20
scientific, just a feeling based on my overall impression=20
    of each day's workload.

Sprint will be able to research the original date it was=20
activated and provide warranty coverage up until one year=20
from *that* date. So I only get (according to the seller's=20
claimed date of activation) 11 months of warranty.
