I can not seem to find the driver to install my phone on my laptop to use as
a USB modem. I put in my installation disk and it does not find the folder.
I have done this before and never seemed to have this much trouble. What
have I forgotten? I reformated my hard drive and need to reinstall this
driver in order to use my modem on the road. No matter what I do I cna't
seem to make this work. Can some kind soul step me through this please!
Thanks in Advance!!

Carefully follow the instructions for when in the procedure the phone
needs to be plugged in, and when it needs to be turned on.

When you say installation disk, what program are you talking about? Syncing,
dialing, ??
If it's to dial out, you can follow these instructions.
If you haven't downloaded and installed the Sanyo drivers, you need to do
that. You can get the drivers from
http://futuredial.com/support/downlo...USB_Driver.zip . Install
the drivers.
Connect the cable to the phone and then to your laptop. It should see the
new hardware, and ask for the drivers to install the new hardware. Point it
to where you downloaded the drivers. Then set up a new dial up, using the
new Samsung set up, and plug in the phone number #777, and do not
include a user name or a password.

I'd be wary suggesting that particular driver set for an 8100 or a new
computer with USB2 --- there are actual 8100 drivers on the FD site, which
are free if you own the futuredial predicts.
To the OP, RTFM ---- which says in short open the folder, run setup without
the phone attached, then once the drivers are part of the Windows driver
database hook the phone up and let the machine finish the install.

Actually Tom, IIRC, that driver on Futuredial's site works for all three
Sanyo models - 4900, 5300 & 8100.

Well, as long as its IIRC then that's okay --- of course my experience of
just last week, when I set up a pal's 5300, tells me something quite
different, especially if you have USB2 ports. But if it'll make you feel
better we can go with your recollections, no problem.
