I would like to connect my Sanyo 8100 to my PC so I can access the
Internet and also use my companies VPN to access my Lotus Notes
email. What do I need in order to do this? Just a cable to connect
the phone to the PC? USB connection would be OK. Do I need any
special software?
I subscribe to PCS Vision. Does connection time come out of your
regular plan minutes or as part of PCS Vision? Thanks in advance for
the input from anyone who has done this.

As has been mentioned here numerous times, the SnapDial (not snapsync) software
is totally unnecessary if you want to use your phone as a modem for your PC.
You can buy the cable by itself for $20 at Radio Shack, often cheaper elsewhere.

I bought a USB charging cable off eBay. Here is an example for your 8100.

install the driver for your phone - setup a dial up connection using #777
and you are good to go! DonnaB

The Radio Shack cable associated with Future Dial's SnapDialer does
not charge your phoen, where as the GoMatic version does. I get about
two hours out of my phone with the non-charging cable.
And you don't need any special dialer software, just build a connectoid
in Windows and set it to dial "#777".
