As of today there is no such thing as a Nokia 6255.

He is, of course, completely wrong - the 6225 *does* exist.

    http://www.nokiausa.com/phones/6225

It's just not being sold by Sprint right now.

Actually, he's right about it not being available (read the section right
under the phone)- but its not available from Nokia, which while not a great
thing for Sprint, is not SPrint's fault.

Typical blind sprintpcs apologist, just looking for a way to insult someone for
pointing out Sprint mistakenly saying the had the 6225 available and that no
companion 6255 exists, as a poster had claimed reading about. Where did anyone
say the 6255 was Sprint's fault that you needed to chime in.

Two points for a blind sprintpcs apologist (and in this case really blind, he
can't tell the difference between 6255 and 6225).

No one ever said the 6225 didnt exist, just that Sprint had a press release
saying it was available when thats not true. Not the first time a Sprint press
release was wrong, but blind sprintpcs apologists always take a company press
release as gospel. Like when they claim they will reduce churn, except that
    hasnt happened.

It's unnkown whose fault it is that the 6225 is unavailable, but the point was
why is SprintPCS claiming it is???

    Re: Nokia 6225 withdrawn?

Ah come on people, can we please stop it already. I keep reading these
threads looking for information on the 6225 because I am considering getting
one, and all I find is an endless stream of name calling. I remind you that
this is a "newsgroup," which suggest that at some point news will be
discussed. Please take your personal attacks to
alt.wastemytime.senselessbickering. If you have news, post it here.

From what I can piece together from other newsgroups, it appears that the
phone was very close to release. Some people even report having ordered it.
Then something happened, one salesperson is reported to have said there was
a software problem. It is clear that Sprint posted an announcement on line,
which they have now removed. For those looking to pick a fight with Sprint,
grow up. This is the real world, mistakes are made, unexpected problems
arise. From a business, as well as a consumer perspective, it makes more
sense to stop a release and get the problems fixed, before the consumer has
to deal with it. Those salespeople at Sprint who are willing to conjecture
are projecting next week at the earliest shipping date.

Personally, this phone seems to have a lot of the features for which I am
looking according to the pre-release info: small size, Vision capable,
speakerphone, voice recorder, IR to link to computer. I will be most
interested in hearing assessments of battery life and reception, relative to
    the 8100, for example.

Larry, just for your clarification, there was only one person complaining
....posting as three different posters here. Robert, Robert M. and Cell
Merger are 3 of 58 known different IDs of a trolling poster we call Phillipe
    ....

You can find info on the Nokia 6225 at

    http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=381

If I recall correctly when the press release was online it had
    a price listed at $229.99

As to when it will really be available for sale, I can find no one at
SprintPCS that either knows or is saying.

Read the Subject line. A Nokia phone with an xx5x model number wouldn't be
a CDMA model (it'd be GSM).

    > No one ever said the 6225 didnt exist

Bull. You did. You keep calling it "vaporware."

Unknown? The fact that it is not available on the manufacturer's website
    pretty much answers the question.

As far as the press release, it is no different than Verizon announcing new
camera phones last summer, only to be told by Motorola that they wouldn't
    get them.
