I'm having my samsung uproar mp3 phone replaced under the lockline
insurance program, and I'm wondering if anyone knows what they pretend
    is equivalent these days?

(I've read the old posts on this, but the most recent was over a year
    old.)

The uproar cost me $400 in 2000....

    TIA

See More: What's the insurance replacement for Uproar these days?

Well, there are no longer any MP3 phones offered by SPCS, and whatever you
paid for it back then, doesn't matter right now. See if you can find out
what they have in stock, before they send it out.

When you talk with them, you should also ask them about the accessories you
have for your phone, like hands free device, charging unit, to have them
sent with the phone as well.

    a VM450 is a $379 phone.

A Treo 600 can play MP3s, but is on paper a $599 phone.

Ask all you want. Won't make one ****ing bit of difference.
All they'll do is send you is a phone of their choosing such as a samsung a500 and
    a charger.

It doesn't matter if you spent $1000 on your phone and accessories. They'll
send you a $50 phone and a charger.

If that happens one contacts Executive Services which if there is a
major descrepency has been known to assist.

Well they wouldn't help if he didn't contact them.

Finally I got the number for Executive Services via some means (maybe
even here). The problem was solved within a couple of hours, I got
    several follow up
calls, several apologies and several months of free service. They went
farbeyond what was necessary. I was embarrassed by how well I was
treatedcompared to how I was blown off so many times trying to work
    within the system.

The problem is that escalation system did not work at all, and it sounds
like it has not improved very much (I am no longer a customer).

The number/contact is getting posted here out of frustration.

I posted about the Treo 600 earlier in this thread.

As usual Smith is too quick to respond.

Of course it matters. he's entitled to a "comparable" phone.

Really? I wasn't aware of that. It's good to hear. In saying that, the OP in
this thread may have a chance to get the 600 as a replacement phone.

Note to the OP, I said chance, it's not a given that they will send a 600.

Not usual (and you know it Phillipe), but you are right, on this one
Phillipe ... I was too quick, as I didn't know the 600 had the capability.
SPCS doesn't list that capability in their online description of the phone.
In saying that, I didn't even consider the 600 (even if I didn't know about
it's capability) as it's one of the most expensive models currently for sale
    by SPCS.

And what is exec services supposed to do with Lock/Line? In case you
didn't notice, Lock/Line is not part of Sprint, it's a completely
    different company.

ALso, it's called depreciation of value. If you spend $1500 on your
computer and 2 yars later, it's broken to the point that the whole
thing needs to be replaced, do you think they'll send you another
$1500 computer or one that's comparible?

I understand that. That not withstanding, there have been cases where
Executive Services has interceded or helped out an end user. Don't you
have confidence in your own company to be User Friendly? Certainly
Executive Services won't help if he doesn't ask.

Depends on your insurance. If they promise a comparable phone, then they
should be giving such. I don't know about you, but my homeowners
insurance has a "Replacement Cost" rider, and when I had some
electronics wiped out by lightening some years back, I got full
    replacement value, not depreciated value.
