Just got a new BMW x5 with built in bluetooth and the dealer is saying for
me to switch carriers because SPRINT does not have any compatable phones.
They said that Sprint usto carry the SE T605 but when they stopped that was
the end of the line for compatability. My question is that I really dont
want to go to Cingular or Verizon since I have 5 Sprint phones but I need
the bluetooth capability to work. Dose anone know if SPRINT is going to
come out with a bluetooth phone that is fully compliant in working with the
    new BMW's?

They sold the T608 but SonyEricsson only made about 10,000 before deciding to
stop producing CDMA phones altogether. Perhaps the LG PM325 might work for you?

I was hoping that the the new LG 325 would work but so far nobody has been
able to confirm that it will work 100% and by that I mean have the
capability to pair and also tansfer, sync and utilize the auto to dial using
    the "contacts" directory. very frustrating!!!

Tried the car kit upgrade and it does not work for the BMW X5. I have given
up with palm, sprint, and BMW trying to get it to work... I went on E-bay
and bought a used SE T608 and it works great... in the car... the phone is a
little quirky and the menu is a little slow but at least it works ok and it
does allow for data transfer from my laptop when I need it. When my Sprint
contract is up I will be changing to Cingular or t-Mobile because they have
lots of compatable phones for the BMW.

Best of luck with Cingular or T-mobile. I work from a company that has many
employees and most of those employees have cell phones on all different
providers. Most of the complaints regarding bad coverage or no coverage are
regarding Cingular or T-Mobile. I would give up the Bimmer before I would
use any cell phone service other than Sprint or Verizon.

OK... perhaps I'll try Verizon... I like Sprint service they just dont have
any BT phones that work... and sorry I will give up my cell phone provider
and keep the bimmer... I think Verizon now has the motorola razor and that
    works ok with the bimmer.

Not hardly. The V3 is only for GSM. Verizon is CDMA like Sprint. You DO
NOT want Verizon if you want Bluetooth.

I know this thread might be a little old now, but in case the starter of
this thread is still watching this post...

I recently bought a Jabra A210 bluetooth adapter to add bluetooth
capability to my non-Bluetooth phone, the Sanyo 8100. The unit is pretty
small and plugs right into the standard 2.5mm jack which most phones
have. (I'm not sure whether your phone has that jack or not, but if it
does, it should work with the Jabra A210.) The only time the adapter
needs to be plugged in is when you need to recharge it, which you can do
while you're charging your phone, but the battery life I've seen from mine
is quite good. It also has a clip you can attach to it if you want to
wear it on your belt next to your phone, but for me, since I use it in my
car, I don't use the clip.

More info on the Jabra A210 at
    http://www.jabra.com/JabraCMS/NA/EN/...A210/JabraA210
    or at Amazon http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg.../-/B00070QF5W/

I'm not sure if Jabra's online compatibility checker has been updated
yet. When I tried to use it to check the A210's compatibility to my phone
before I bought it, it said it wasn't compatible, but a quick message to
their sales support confirmed that it indeed was, as all other
documentation I had found on the A210 claimed it was compatible with all
phones with a 2.5mm headset jack.

I'm not sure if you want a solution like this or not but I thought I'd
mention it to you anyway just in case.
