    >From Sprint PCS Info (http://www.sprintpcsinfo.com):

Sprint is expected to begin deployment of PRL 10027 tomorrow. This PRL
will enable EV-DO in all devices that support it. While the PRL
generally refers to roaming, carriers have modified the PRL to provide
network feature status, such as with EV-DO.

Sprint generally takes time to deploy PRL releases properly, so why PRL
10027 may be released, customers may not be able to get it over-the-air
immediately. We will you informed as to when it is available.

Adding EV-DO support in the PRL does not mark the official launch of
EV-DO, there is no guarantee as to available EV-DO coverage anywhere
    from Sprint at this time.

There are a lot of issues with this PRL. People who have been upgraded to
it, have had roaming problems in some markets.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sprint limits this upgrade to EVDO enabled data
    cards at first.

Actually this PRL version turned out to be 20007 not 10027 and it is
only for EVDO capable devices. Those of us who don't use an EV-DO
    device can't get this update.

Hmmm, other than one of the pcmcia cards, are they any other cards or phones
that are EV-DO capable right now?

Is 10026 the latest PRL for all phones?

    For 1xRTT phones, yes.

    Re: PRL 10027

    I have a Samsung SPH-A660 phone. I looked and I had PRL 00023. I called *2
and got customer service. The taped message said that they had a free
update for me that I downloaded by air. When it was complete I checked my
PRL and it said 00027. Is this a problem update, and is the 660 an EVDO
    phone?

    Thanks,

Don't know about the PRL. The 660 is Vision (1xRTT) only, no EV-DO.

Okay, to clarify with everyone: the PRL for EV-DO devices IS NOT 10027.
    The PRL EV-DO Is 20007.

For 1xRTT devices (basically, everything except data cards as of this
writing), the current PRL is 10027, and it DOES NOT enable EV-DO.

That said, you SHOULD be able to update to 10027 without a problem.

I have already updated to 10027. Does anyone know what additional roaming
    capability is provided by 10027?
