I'm shopping for a used phone, hopefully voice only, as a backup, and I
don't want anything fancy. Reliability and reception are important. Any
    recommendations?

    Thanks.

Sanyo 4700. It's set on the 3G system for voice. It does have the capability
to access the WW, but you don't need to activate the option.

    Sanyo/Sprint just released a new voice-only phone. The Sanyo 200. $169
without rebate. Speakerphone, voice dialing... not bad. Maybe more
than you were expecting, and obviously not used. But, depending on how
important the backup is, maybe worth the added expense?
