Sanyo mm-9000 as modem driver?

Anyone found a driver for this new phone yet? Apparently the driver wasn't
released when the phone was first released a month or so ago.

As a follow up...I found the driver. I suppose I should have read the phone
manual first. It directed me to www.sprint.com/downloads

You can find the connection manager software there.

Run it. If you actually let it run through fully it will install the
connection manager software which is not required to get online via your
phone. At the checkbox screen, STOP. Click Start | Run and type: %temp%
and click OK. Look for a folder with a recently modifed date/time (as in
the last few minutes). I found two...one of them will contain the magical
files for _just_ the phone drivers (i found them as ZIP EXEs). I have a
Sanyo, so that's the file I grabbed. Copy it to another location, for safe
keeping, as this folder does get deleted when the installer finishes.

Now just run that EXE...it will install the drivers you need. Only plug in
your phone _after_ installing the drivers. Once installed, do the
usual...config a new internet connection using your newly detected
phone/modem...phone number: #777 ...no username/password needed.

What's up Sprint? Where is the Mac version? All of these new goodies;
I'm loving my MM-9000; but, browser always gives out of memory error
and I want to plug in my Powerbook.

Any 3rd party stuff out there to make that USB cable keep my MM-9000 w/
EVDO work on my pbook?

First off EVDO has got absolutely nothing to do with phone syncing with a
USB cable. EVDO is the new wireless communications protocol and isn't
involved with syncing your phone via an USB cable. As for syncing, you can
check these sites to see whether they support your phone model. Considering
how new your phone model is, there may or may not be any software syncing
developers supporting that unit yet.

Right on. I just want it to work. A phone by any other name still
wouldn't work on my Mac with EVDO No one seems to have MM-9000
drivers yet and the older ones aren't there.

Actually, the provided cable (Sanyo's) won't allow any access at all,
but the retractable MiniSync cable will allow the phone to be
recognized. Maybe the cable *does* matter...?
