SMS delays from new sanyo mm-9000...evdo?

I suspect it may have something to do with the evdo network, but on some
occassions I'm noticing long elays from SMS messages i sent from the
phone...recipients not receiving the messages until several hours later.
yet they can send messages to me without a problem (from older, presumably
non-evdo capable phones).

Anyone else seen this? I'm in the Boston coverage.

Whether a phone is sending SMSs in EVDO or receiving in pre EVDO shouldn't
make any difference as those are communication protocols. The delay might be
in the server transferring the message, or that the sender or the recipient
is in a fringe coverage area or out of a coverage area entirely.

This is not new. This topic appears from time to time based on Sprint's
approach to text messaging, server maintenance, lack of server failover
in their architecture, and other factors.

You should have directed your post to the OP. I was talking to the OP about
his inquiry whether sending an SMS via an EVDO device to a non EVDO device
was the cause of the delay of receipt of the SMS.

Yeah...I really don't think this particular problem has anything to do with
servers being down or spotty coverage, else the other user would have been
effected too. As I mentioned in the original post, the other (non-evdo)
user had no problem sending me SMS msgs. She was also on the same tower as
me (4-bar coverage for both of us). The only difference was the phones
themselves.
