I get text messages from several people. I find it a pain keying
responses via the phone (a Sanyo 5400), even using T9 input.

*Most* of the time I get these messages, I'm working in front of my
computer. Is there a web site I can use to respond to these people with
a real keyboard? Then when they hit "Reply", their response is still
sent to my phone, and not back to the site?

    Thanks!

Each provider has a website for sending text messages to its customers,
but you have to know which carrier's site to use.

    http://messaging.sprintpcs.com
    http://www.vtext.com/customer_site/jsp/messaging_lo.jsp
    http://www.cingularme.com/do/public?l=en-US&v=cingular
    http://www.t-mobile.com/messaging/

And here are some multi-provider sites from my bookmarks.

    http://mobile.yahoo.com/sms/sendsms
    http://www.smseverywhere.com/
    http://www.sms.ac/HomePage/Default.aspx
    http://www.teleflip.com
