Calls from this number started up for me yesterday: 866-463-3020.
Googling the number brings up references to Sprint/Nextel telemarketing,
but I suspect, as do many of the people in the Google links, that it's
telemarketing saying that they are Sprint/Nextel while actually
    being something else.

Here are a couple of links, google for more:

I don't answer calls from numbers that I do not recognize, so I haven't
talked to this party yet. When I can get to a payphone or office phone,
maybe I can call and probe them a little, as I don't want to call them
back from a number that I care anything about.

As I work shifts all around the clock and use my phone as an alarm clock,
this could be a real problem for me. My solution for now was to put this
number in my contact list and set the ringer to "none".

Just wanted to put out the word that these calls may be headed your way.

It -could- be a legitimate sales call from Sprint-Nextel, but if you suspect it to be a fraud, just call Sprint's customer service and ask them if your account is opted out of calls like that. They might be able to put the number in their system to find out if it came from them (that's just a guess but worth trying). Tell them you would like to opt out of all promotional calls, sales calls, and anything not directly pertaining to your account. If the calls stop after that, you'll know it was legit. If they continue, then you can safely assume they're a fraud and report them back to Sprint. Hope this helps.

I called the number back just curious what it was too.. it was sprint/nextel
offering promotions and new features. said 'sorry if we missed you.. yadda
yadda'. It did say something about if you don't want them to call you that
you can add your cell to the do not call list ... just call it, someone will
not answer unless you enter in your sprint paces phone number. I hung up
once I heard it say that.
