I've had my Treo for 3 months and it freezes a couple of times a day (need to take the battery out and re-insert it to get it going). Anyone else having similar problems? Now, I regret I didn't opt fot the blackbery :-(

I don't think it's the Treo. There are several around me
with zero problems. It's more probably some tricky apps
you've installed. In any case, posting on mytreo.net
will probably generate better help than here.

Ike,
I second your thoughts. I've had my 755P since mid-December and I've
only had it lock up on me one time, and that was when I tried to
install an old Palm application (it was written for PalmOS 3.x). Other
than that I've had ZERO problems.
Chris, I'd do the following things - - -
1) Uninstall any apps you've installed
2) Get the 1. firmware update from Palm and install it. Follow the
instructions on the Palm web site EXACTLY (including the caution about
not using a MicroSD card in an adaptor for the update file).
If you still have problems, you might have a defective device.
Contact Palm and see what they have to say.

Zero "tricky" apps installed. I actually have not installed any apps, other than what was there when I turned the unit ON. I'll take your advice about posting in a different forum.
Thanks,

If nobody else seems to have problems with it, it may be a defective device, as you said. I'll try contacting Palm and see what they say.

Re: Treo 755, Freezing?
The test for a faulty unit is simple. Remove the mini-SD
card, if any. Do a hard reset (remove battery, hold
power button, reinstall battery, "YES"). Now you have
what was in the box when it arrived, with one exception:
your phone number is in it.
If it fails in that condition, get a replacement. If it
doesn't, install half of your apps. etc. etc.
Good luck.
I've used Palm Phones since the Samsung i330, and so far
have never seen a hardware fault.
