Hey all. I finally decided on a phone last week and I've had my Curve since
last Tuesday. And I've got to say, this is one amazing phone! I can't
believe how well-designed it is, and what all I can do on it. And, just as
important as all that stuff, the sound quality is unbelievable.

And the best part is I didn't have to switch plans, as is required for the
Instinct. So I got to keep my $40 plan (1000 anytime minutes and unlimited
n/w at 8pm), and just add on the $30 BlackBerry text/data plan. It's the
same price as the $70 Everything plan, but I get to keep my 1000 minutes
instead of dropping down to 450. That was a big selling point for me. That
and the fact that using the Instinct never really felt all that great for me
anyway. I'm extremely happy with my BB though!

Glad you like it. I still find things months after getting it that make
    lfe easier for me.

I'm curious- how does it deal with the foreign character situation you
    have?

Yeah, at first I was going to read everything I could about how it works and
learn it all, but there's just so much that I think I'll do it a bit at a
time and learn things as I go.

What do you mean, exactly? I don't do much foreign character stuff, although
I did notice that it displayed some foreign characters one day on a website
I was at. Does it not work right for you?

Thanks for remembering. That would be me. I ultimately opted
for iPhones for myself and my wife. As you may recall, I did an awful
lot of research before making this decision, and on the merits - and
in consideration of both my own and my wife's needs - the iPhone made
    the most sense.

I'd be happy to explain further, but have not done so due to
the unvarnished animus that the iPhone seems to arouse in some
    quarters.

Heh, when I went to that website on my phone and saw foreign characters, I
    actually thought of you.

Were they actual Japanese characters? What phone? (I wonder if
I missed something in my research).
