I played with an A620/VGA1000 at a Sprint PCS store today and found the
sequence for entering Field Debug mode:
Menu-8-1-0 040793 1
As with other Samsung phones, the P number is the ID (the PN Offset) of
the sector of the cell site, the D number is signal strength (105=none,
95=bad, 70=good, 40=you're next to the cell site), and the number after
the dash after the strength is the Ec/I0, which is sort of a
signal/noise or quality measure.

"For A500 or N400, press Menu-0-1-0-040793-1"
