Hi all, I work in a giant brick monstrosity, down in the concrete lined
basement with a zillion computers. I also live in a brick building. I'm
about to get my first cell phone.
I'm sure I can't get all the way to my desk at work, but what should I be
pursuing for the best signal penetration? Should I be looking at a certain
system? Thanks - cmb

No sure way except ask your co-workers and try different phones, if nothing
works try an outside antenna or go outside to use the phone. The fast foward
option with Cingular and foward options with other providers can help. The
difference between 1900MHZ and 800MHZ or GSM, CDMA, and iden would only be
if the direction and distance to the nearest tower was the same, so no you
should not look for a certain system.
