Options for losing the landline

I've been researching options for losing the landline - i.e. a cradle
for the cell phone that routes calls over my existing house wires for
use with standard telephones. The products I've found are PhoneLabs
Celldock, CIDCO Cell Merge, Celldock 1000. RCA also has a product but
it works a bit differently. What I'm looking for now is any opinions
from those who actually own/use the products.

Maybe not what you seeking, but I remember some years ago a company in
Houston (GTE) that was selling a radio phone service (I think that what is
was) that allowed you to take your home phone line around town with you and
not pay the high cost of cell service per minute costs.

GTE Tele-Go. I had it in Cleveland... a Tele-Go was my first cell phone,
actually.

Not the same thing, not offered by any of the companies that eventually took
over GTE's networks (except perhaps Cingular, which acquired the old GTE
network in one or two places), and, I believe, not what he's looking for.
The products described allow you to make cellular calls using the home phone
as an extension of the cell phone. Tele-Go used your landline when in range
of the special Tele-Go base station (i.e., when you were at home), and used
cellular airtime when not in range. My Tele-go was a customized Oki 1325,
but they also used customized versions of a couple other models including
the Nokia 100. Was analog-only (this was before the days of TDMA and CDMA).
