Does anyone have a list of the TracFone text message failure status
    codes and their meanings?

When I call TracFone customer service, I can NEVER get anyone for whom
English is their first language; I can barely understand what they are
saying!!! I have contacted them by email and phone several times to
try to learn what the status codes mean when a text message fails to
send, to no avail. There are status codes like "111" and "134" but
they tell me NOTHING about why my message failed to send AND it still
deducts my units even though the message never left my phone!!! This
is driving me crazy; I have a perfectly full signal and the "D" for
digital on my phone display, I turn my phone off and back on, and
sometimes a certain message just won't send and I have no idea why.

The only reply I get from my emails to them is a generic,
computer-generated reply that has absolutely nothing to do with my
    question.

Does anyone else suffer from this affliction?? I'm using a Motorola
v60i and I think the carrier is Cingular but I don't know if that has
anything to do with it or if it's the TracFone people's issue.

    JoshIII wonders:

Are you trying to send phone-to-phone or phone-to-computer?

On Nokia GSM phones, when sending a text message phone-to-computer
or via email, it requires switching the phone into its email mode via
the menu keys before typing the message out. I never used the v60i,
but it probably works the same way.

SMS to another cellphone is different from SMS from a cellphone to
a computer. When sending to another computer you are using
an email address rather than another phone number for recipient.

Try it both ways, one way might work, while the other way won't

Takes time to troubleshoot problems like this. Another thing I would
suggest is going to the Cingular website (if Cingular is in fact your
    carrier)
and reading what they have to say about text messaging setup.

Note: Dial 411 and listen to see which carrier your TracFone uses.

    Hope this helps!
