I just wanna find out is the iphone worth buying? One must understand that this is a very compact unit and if not handle in a gently way can develop problems. Now the Ipod hd is very delicate, dropping that iphone alone can cause alot of malfunction with that simple piece of thing.

Re: iPhone worth it?
it isn't worth buying,
not REAL digits, as in numbers,,
and you HAVE to buy $.99 ringtones from itunes.

I didn't realize that ringtones were that expensive.

I think that Iphone is a cheap and cool gadget. Well, it's only 399$ for a 4Gb one.

Re: iPhone worth it?
Ditto on dunk3r23's comments, but I really think it's pretty flimsey and is the screen prone to scratching?

Re: iPhone worth it?
Hey!
At least for me the experience with iPhone has been very good. OK it's quite big money, and then you have to pay more to get the downloads but you can find pretty good places where you spend a quantity once and then forget and it's not really that much expensive once you got the phone!!!
That's a web-page I found where they have a good offer but as I am a new member here they don't let me put links or e-mail adreses so if you are interested just write (stormyer) to (yahoo.com)
Hope it helps!!!

Re: iPhone worth it?
Yes, especially at todays price, I was one of the early buyers that paid the introductory price. Here's the deal, the phone is great for receiving emails, the keyboard is very easy to use, same for texting. The sound quality is the best of any phone Iv'e ever used. This phone is just cool and I love it, who cares about the cost of a ring tone, are you guys kidding?
Iv'e got over a hundred songs on it; Iv'e searched the web for store locations, checked the weather, used the calculator and more.
I have not dropped it yet, but if I did and it broke, then I'd buy another one.
Just buy it, life is to short

Re: iPhone worth it?
IDK, I got to play around with one for a while the other day and I was pretty impressed. I can do so much more with it and cut tons of stuff out of my life. Plus it is a lot quicker and easier to use than I was expecting.
I get you all on the worry over it breaking since it is such an expensive item, but as long as you are careful.
I think I will wait a little while longer and then purchase my own. I am really looking forward to it.

Re: iPhone worth it?
I do have the money laying around for one, but right now I don't quite think I'm going to get one. I'll give it a few months and see if they are coming out with something new. I don't want to buy it and then have them come out with a new version or something.

The Iphone is worth it. It has really useful functions and everything is placed together nicely. And you cant forget about the sleek and simple design.

Re: iPhone worth it?
If you aren't in any kind of contract they I would switch over to Verizon and go with their iPhone-like Voyager. It has an mp3 player and takes a microSD card up to 8gb (right now, more space when 16gb and 32gb cards are released) so you can have up to just as much space as the more expensive iPhone. It also has it's own download service, but the songs are more expensive (but you can still download from other places that give you mp3 or wma downloads and also from CDs. Also it has mobile tv that is only 10 bucks a month (with the Vcast Vpak) 8 channels right now, probalby more to come. Also instead of using a slower wireless internet network like EDGE, it uses Verizons super fast 3G network...the fastest mobile internet out there..and unline previous verizon models, this new Voyager has a full HTML browser. And the biggest feature over the iPhone, on top of its external touch screen the phone flips open longways to reveal another large internal lcd screen and a full qwerty keyboard.
Top that iPHone.

Re: iPhone worth it?
I bought the iPhone about a month ago, replacing my Bberry pearl with it. I've found that I can't put the darn thing down. IMO paying .99 for ringtones in ludicrous so I use a little app called iPhoneRingtonemaker to make and transfer them to the phone.
It's true that the iPhone runs on AT&T's slower edge network, but I'm never that far from places that offer free Wi-Fi so it's not that big of a deal.---
