I can put a .mid file into iTunes, but it won't let me use it as a ringtone for my 3G iPhone because I didn't purchase at the iTunes Store. Any ideas? Not really interested in hacking the phone, at least not while it's under warranty.

Are you on a Mac?
GarageBand helps you make ringtones to import into iTunes.

Yeah, I figured that out after doing some more searching. Unfortunately my version of GB is too old. I'd have to shell out more $ to update it than it is worth to me. Thanks!
