I have an iphone 3G and just accepted a job in Toronto. I'm wondering if anyone has information about possibly "jailbreaking" or "unlocking" my phone so I can use it in Canada with a Canadian carrier.
I called AT&T and they predictably told me that it's impossible to unlock the phone (which I know is inaccurate) so they weren't very helpful. I'm desperate to hold onto my iphone and use it in Canada and would prefer not having to purchase one in Canada.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions!!!
Thanks

Re: US iPhone transfer to Canada?
Do a search on google and you can find a guide to jailbreaking your iphone. Just be aware that jailbreaking your iPhone will cause you problems when you try to upgrade the firmware. Your phone will be locked again and in some cases it can be come "bricked" where it will not work at all. If that happens you will have to reformat and jailbreak again. Good luck!
