    Hello!

New here, but havent seen a straight answer to what I'm looking for, so thought I'd post a thread myself:

I recently bought a Samsung A600 and am w/ Bell Mobility. I have a data cable too, but I cannot seem to remove my photos from the camera with it. PCLink tries to connect w/ the phone, but it never transfers any data. I'm able to edit my phonebook and upload it, so I know the port is at least active and configured right. So my question is: What do I need to do to be able to transfer photos/ringtones/etc?? I cant get a straight answer from Bell or Samsung either. Bell says its a function of Samsung... Samsung says its a function of Bell!!

I highly suspect that the data transfer ability is blocked by Bell themselves... They're not stupid of course.. they want us to pay extrodinary prices to get our blurry pictures out of our phones... If anyone knows a trick or 2, please let me know! Thanks

you got it. bell had the pc sync menu removed from the sanyo 8100. im actually in the process of getting a sprint phones firmware and uploading just the part the contains the menu. i have looked through what i can in bitpim and actually found references to sprint stuff in the bell phone, which means its basically a crippled sprint phone. they are pushing their crappy ass ringtones and screensavers, and i think i saw a game for 9 bucks!anyways, ive gotten tons of games and my own ringtones, with actual music and sound, by uploading crap to a webserver. and there is tons of free crap to dl. just pay the 5 bucks a month. lol. but if i get anywhere with hacking my sanyo, maybe i can try a samsung too.
What's my name again? Oh right, I forgot.

oh and btw, try using bitpim, i think it works with your phone. get it at www.bitpim.org and dl the development version. i just read the help page on phone support and there is an entry for samsung phones, but nothing really in there at all. http://www.bitpim.org/testhelp/phones-samsung.htm

lol, but try it anyways, i use it to get my pics off my phone. it works great, when i remember to do it. which reminds me....
