Ok, here's the deal:
2 months ago, i gave my car to a man who owns a local garage. The agreement was: I give you the car to sell the motor for me, and i get the cash from the deal, you get the car to junk for cash. 1 1/2 months later: The man was arested. Now some lady owns the garage. First time i went to get the car, they tried to SELL IT TO ME!!! Next time, a week ago, i go to the garage to pick my car up, its not there. Im pissed off already now, got into an argument with the guy, so i left. Now, im riding in the hood in my truck, and what do i see? MY CAR. I stop the guy and pull him over. guess what? HE WORKS AT THE GARAGE! Now, the car wasSOLD to him, and im not sure if the car is STILL in my name, or if it got transfered. I never signed over ANY title though, BUT the car is Registered, AGAIN, AND inspected. So, now im on 2 things:
1) They Have sold my car WITHOUT my consent, AND my signature was forged to do so
2) The car was sold, but is still in my name.
Either way, im out of a car, i have NOT given consent for them to sell it, and the owner IS A NOTARY. Im royally screwed over. I DO have the VIN number, but what should I do? HEEEELP!

I would check with the DMV. You can find out if the car is still in your name. If forgery is involved, an attorney will need to be involved. Doesn't matter if one of the people involved is a notary, if you did not sign anything then it is not a valid sale and you can report the car stolen. Not to cause any major issues, I would first start with the DMV to get your facts straight and then consult an attorney. An attorney can write letters to force the issue and hopefully settle things without causing major issues.
Best of luck,
