    While the HP iPAQ-510-Voice-Messenger does not offer anything new in the way of design or features, the device does make fairly good use of the latest technology. Perhaps nowhere is this more evident than in the voice command capabilities of the 510. With quick response and easy programming for basic commands, no other device can come close to the ease of use when it comes to voice activation. Along with the voice command protocols, it also gives you the ability to make the best use of Voice over Internet Protocol capabilities. Sometimes described as a candy bar phone, the 510 is a simple and compact design that slides easily into a lapel pocket or the front pocket of your favorite pair of jeans. The 510 is equipped with Windows Mobile 6.0, which means it has the latest in email capability.

    On the down side, the 510 have some issues with the audio features. While the general audio is acceptable, activating the speakerphone function makes a noticeable change in the quality of the sound. Further work on the speaker function to bring the sound quality up to acceptable range would greatly enhance the attractiveness of the 510. Also, it is a good thing that the voice command capability is so advanced, as the keypad seems to be somewhat cramped, which may turn off some consumers.

    Pros
    There are a number of attractive features that are part of the HP iPAQ 510 Voice Messenger:

    * State of the Art Voice Command Functions
    * Enhanced Email Functionality
    * Compact and Lightweight
    * Moderately priced
    * VoIP capability

    Cons
    Along with the assets, there are a few things to keep in mind about the HP iPAQ 510 Voice Messenger:

    * Speakerphone performance is below par
    * Cramped keypad and navigation controls
    Camera has lower resolution
