Hi, if you would I am looking for a cell phone that is verst in shock resistance, water resistance, dust resistance, and just in general tough as nails. I want to be able to throw this phone through the wall and have it in tact. I want there to be a nuclear war, and the only things still in one piece are roaches, twinkies, and my phone. strength is all i need, i dont care about eye candy or superfluous features like camera... textings is fine.
any phone like that?

Re: which cell phone is durable?
Nextel offers a pretty durrable line of phones for people that can take a beating. Ones that come to mind are the i580 by Motorola and the MM77500 by Sanyo. However neither of these are going to live through being submerged in liquid.
I would probably look at the G Zone series from Verizon. I've heard they are water proof and co-designed or ordered (cant remember which) by the military. I don't think you are going to find one that withstands a nuclear blast. If you do... please let me know!

I would go with a Nextel phone anyday under the circumstances for which you are looking for.

Re: which cell phone is durable?
Verizon phones are pretty good if you ask me, I have found that most of the phones that I have gotten from them have been right on the money for me.

Re: which cell phone is durable?
I have a Benq-Siemens m65, I am a landscaper(working in the dust, dirt, mud, etc.) I am hard on my phones and I have had very minor issues with this phone (phone has a tendency to shut off in my pocket because I am leaning against the buttons but all other keys lock, no accidental dialling) I have had my phone for about two and a half years and still have decent battery life, just charge every night. almost all of my other phones have broken after 6-12 months. I believe the newer model is the m75, I guess this one will play mp3's. Good Luck, my tip of the day is to use clear packaging tape over your display to avoid scratching, when it gets all nasty and dirty and scratched up, just take it off and clean the display and put on another piece, just like brand new.

I have used 3 phones, in my opinion Nokia is the most reliable one, solid and easy for use.

Re: which cell phone is durable?
What about Nokia? I dropped my Nokia phone a few times and it was still OK. I think that they do drop tests, etc to check on durability and whatnot
