I have XP and while it isn't the greatest OS in the world, I am reasonably happy with it. I will not go to Vista.

I use it too and I too am not ready to make the jump to Vista. I think they released it too early and now they have all these bugs that they need to patch. What a huge pain for Vista users.

Ah yeah, Even though XP isnt a great OS itself, it still beats Vista hands down, i have vista ultimate running on my laptop and im always running into all sorts of problems with it, This is about my 7th install in the space of 5 months!

Make that about 10th install now, the smallest of things like installing a media player will cause it to just go into a random corner and hide!, Ubuntu/Linux is the only way really!

    Re: XP and Loving it

on my laptop i can either have xp professional, sp2 media center edition, or vista premium. I currently have vista on it but i kinda want xp back... it's so less complicated and easier to work with, and runs better on my laptop. But, at the same time, i love the way vista looks, and i could buy more memory for my laptop to make it run faster and better. i just don't know what to do

I know how you feel.I never thought of XP as the greatest thing to come down the lane from Microsoft, but it never dissapointed me either.I expected with great anticipation Vista, and also tried it.I found out that my resources where getting way to farmed for my taste, and all the wonder talk about it and it's interface where over fetched too.I will stick with XP until something more decent comes out.

    Re: XP and Loving it

Vista is not buggy.. make sure u purchase the version of vista that will meet ur needs. next check the mfg of all ur computer products for drivers... having found u can get all the drivers "if needed" install vista. should be fine.

I install vista on several computers a week with work. I have been running vista ult 64bit for almost a year. also use vista ult 64bit on my server. current specs are

    asus m2n32-sli premium motherboard
AMD socket am2 6000 running stock speeds 3.0 ghz per core
    Nvidia 8800gts 640mb
    4 gig ocz ram
    2x 320 gig wd hdd's in raid 0
    2x 20x dvd burner/ lightscribe

if ur having problems with vista please ask for help instead of dogging the os

    Re: XP and Loving it

I wonder for all the people above that love XP so much if they actually tried Vista. I understand that it was buggy in its release, but what new product doesn't have any bugs? The service pack 1 for vista will be released in March and even now Vista is very stable. Try it and youll never go back...unless you have an underpowered computer. :-)

    Re: XP and Loving it

I used XP for the longest time then went to vista and had some issues and went back to XP. I used XP for a couple days and imo didn't like XP anymore. I went back to Vista again and have been using it since with no problems. Smoother more natural look and it's a lot easier to do and get around to things.
