I've been doing some searches and stuff for midi files, but I'll sometimes find .kar files, what are they?

.kar files are .mid files which can be played thru karaoke programs which basically play the file and at the same time display their lyrics..
you can download these "karaoke programs" at http://www.lerenti.com/ekaraoke/players.htm

you can also change the .kar extension to .mid, and you will have a regular midi file.

p.s. karaoke in this context refers to a midi file that has (graphical) lyrics added.
.MID or .KAR files can have lyrics - the karaoke player will allow you to see the lyrics (for .mid or .kar files) in real-time throughout the piece, as you would if listening to a CD+G CD on karaoke night at your local bar.[.home] [.faq] [.search] [.active] [.chat] [.hitrax]
