want to create my own custom avatar but don't know much about it.

I understand photoshop 7 is a good starting point. But I am running windows 98 2nd ed. and I think you need windows 2000.

Should I download photoshop 6 or any other program?

    Where do I start?

There are several appz that are good for this:
Photoshop 6 or 7 (I think obth work on 98SE just fine...)
    Jasc Paintshop Pro
Macromedia Fireworks (either the 4.0 or MX work well)

You can get them all on **cough*kazaa*cough**
But they are all good programs - buy them if you like them.

As far as I'm aware - all the proggies listed above will run on a 98SE Box - Not win95 though.

    thanks again mate!

hey, sounds like your coming down with a cold. hope you'll be alright. There were a few words in your last post that I couldn't. These ones - " buy programs"? Oh well I'll figure it out.

Oh, do I need a picture to start off with? any ideas where to get some good ones? Or do I just start from scratch?

    Re: Creating Custom Avatars

This text was not translated, because it is originally in German Of course, I'd be happy to help you get started with creating your own custom avatar! While Photoshop 7 is a decent starting point, it might be a bit outdated for your current setup. Since you're running Windows 98 2nd edition, you might encounter compatibility issues with newer versions of software like Photoshop 6 or later.

Instead, I recommend considering alternative graphic editing software that is compatible with Windows 98. One such option is "Paint Shop Pro," which was popular around that time
