HTC One Release Date at Verizon Pushed Back? Looks Like it

While the HTC One has been released through the majority of carriers in the US months ago (the list including AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile), Verizon really took its time before announcing that the One will eventually hit its shelves at one point in the foreseeable future. No exact launch date has been given during the initial announcement, but a roadmap did indicate that the gadget should arrive in Big Red's stores starting with August 1.

With that in mind, a quick peek at the calendar reveals that the One should be available for purchase tomorrow – at least according to the aforementioned roadmap. However, the carrier isn’t giving any signs regarding the matter, and chances are that the One will not go on sale on the 1st of August after all.

Disappointing news for Verizon customers and HTC enthusiasts, but on the somewhat bright side, the latest rumors indicate that the waiting should end soon. More precisely, a recently leaked document has revealed that the launch of the One at Verizon has been moved to August 15.

Whether or not this will be the case remains to be seen, but I keep wondering why Verizon hasn't really bothered bringing the One on its network sooner rather than later. Perhaps the main focus is on the new Motorola line-up at this point, and the HTC DROID DNA did fit the role of a placeholder for the One. Either way, I hope that the launch of the handset will not suffer any further delays.
