When the Sony Honami –officially known as the Xperia Z1- was getting ready for its launch, several leaks and rumors concerning a "Mini" version of the device were hitting the blogosphere in full force. The Xperia Z1 became official, many weeks have passed since then, and now, after a period of time of silence (and despite Sony's campaign to put an end to leaks), new information concerning the "Honami Mini" has emerged.

What we've learned with this occasion is that the Sony Xperia Honami Mini will most likely get released under the name "Xperia Z1 f". The device in question will allegedly be available in four colors, those being black, white, pink and yellow.

As far as the specifications go, the Xperia Z1 f seems to be a pretty darn powerful handset, especially for the market segment it's aimed at. The gadget is supposed to arrive with a 4.3 inch display boasting a resolution of 720 x 1280, a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor running at 2.2 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, a 2,300 mAh battery and a 20.7 MP main camera, complemented by a 2 MP front-facing sensor (the same configuration found on the full-fledged Xperia Z1).

The handset's overall dimensions are said to be 127mm x 64.9mm x 9.4mm, and the gadget is said to boast IP55/58 water and dust resistance.

In other words, much like all of the previous leaks and rumors have suggested, the Honami Mini (or the Xperia Z1 f, if you will) might be a no-compromise device. Though its dimensions and screen size will label this handset as being a "Mini" version of the flagship that it's borrowing the design from, the internal hardware is definitely flagship-worthy.

It's a pretty ambitious take on a smartphone, and we haven't really seen a 4.3 inch Android handset being so powerful in quite a while. In fact, I can't actually think of one that has ever been so powerful!

In any case, the Xperia Z1 f seems to be as real as it can get, and assuming that we might not see it by the end of the year, then chances are that the gadget will be present at CES 2014. Is anyone excited about how the "Honami Mini" is shaping up?
