Both the Sony Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra have been announced some time ago, but up until now, prospective customers residing in the US haven't been able to purchase either one of these gadgets. In fact, there was no official word on when and at what price will these two handsets hit the market State-side. Fortunately, Sony has now shed more light on the matter, and has made both smartphones official. Check out the details below.

Sony Xperia Z 1 – US Launch and Other Details

The Sony Xperia Z1 is now available for purchase on the Sony's official website in the States. The gadget arrives with HSPA+ capabilities and will set you back $669.99, evidently off contract. Spec-wise, the Z1 features a 5 inch Triluminos display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920, a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz, an Adreno 330 graphics chip, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage expandable by up to 64 GB via microSD, and a 3,300 mAh battery. The device also runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.

The biggest highlight of the Xperia Z1 however, is the main camera. The gadget is a so-called "cameraphone", boasting a 20.7 MP unit with a 1/2.3 inch sensor size and Sony G-Lens. A 2 MP camera resides on the front panel. Additionally, one of the more interesting features of the device is its dust and waterproof capabilities.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra - US Launch and Other Details

The Xperia Z Ultra is also available now available for purchase in the US through Sony's online store. This ginormous phablet will cost you $649.99, and much like the Z1, it arrives with HSPA+ capabilities. In addition, an LTE variant is available for purchase at the price of $679.99.

Spec-wise, the Z Ultra delivers a huge 6.4 inch Triluminos display boasting a resolution of 1080 x 1920, a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor running at a frequency of 2.2 GHz, an Adreno 330 graphics chip and 2 GB of RAM. The device packs 16 GB of on-board storage, expandable by up to 64 GB via microSD. The Z Ultra features an 8 MP main camera with image stabilization, face detection and HDR, and a secondary 2 MP front-facing camera. The handset is being powered by a 3,050 mAh battery, and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. Similar to the Xperia Z1, the Z Ultra is also waterproof.

As mentioned in the title, Sony has also announced the details about the Smartwatch 2's price and availability in the US. In fact, the gadget is now being offered on the company's official website at the price of $199.95. The handset promises 3-to-4 days of battery life, it runs on Ice Cream Sandwich and it can be easily paired up with most Android-powered smartphones via NFC and Bluetooth.
