Cell Phone Reviews

Not too long ago, HTC has lifted the veil on the HTC One max. The handset in question is the Taiwanese manufacturer's first "phablet" ever, and it currently bears the "flagship" label, for good reasons.

While the One max is a pretty awesome device, the handset hasn't yet been released everywhere, or through every major carrier. Fortunately, as time goes by, more mobile operators and retailers are getting their hands on the device, and next in line appears to be Best Buy and Sprint in the US.

While Sprint hasn't yet announced the handset in full force, so to speak, the carrier's software support page now lists the HTC One max alongside a release date of November 15. More so, Best Buy is now offering Sprint's One max for pre-order, and you've guessed it: the launch date is set on November 15 once again.

Given the fact that Sprint hasn't made the max fully official, the carrier hasn't disclosed the price of the handset, but Best Buy is now offering the device at the price of $249.99 on a two-year agreement.

As a reminder, the One max boasts a 5.9 inch Super LCD3 display with a resolution if 1080 x 1920 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of 373 ppi, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, a Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor clocked at 1.7 Ghz, an Adreno 320 graphics chip, 2 GB of RAM, and 16 / 32 GB of storage, expandable by up to 64 GB. On the back panel resides a 4 MP UltraPixel camera with a 1/3" sensor size, and on the front panel there's a secondary 2.1 MP shooter. The handset runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box with the new Sense 5.5 user interface on top, and is being powered by a generous Li-Po 3,300 mAh battery that promises up to 585 hours of standby, and up to 25 hours of talk time.

In terms of design, the One max shares the same language as the HTC One, but introduces a couple of new features of its own, including a fingerprint scanner that has been fitted on the back panel. The back cover itself is also removable, giving access to the microSD and microSIM cards, but the battery is still encased within the chassis, so it's not user-removable.

So, to wrap things up, the HTC One max on Sprint is now available for pre-order via Best Buy, and both the carrier and the aforementioned retailer are set to launch the handset on November 15, at the price of $249.99 on-contract. Any takers?
