Hey guys...first post...hopefully you guys don't like ban more or something for being stupid...hah

Ok...so currently I have verizon. I am pissed with it. I have a LG VX6000 phone (cdma). I want a new phone and a new service.

If I get an unlocked cell phone (gsm) and then take it into lets say Cingular, will they set it up for me to work w/ the service. OR do i have to buy a cingular phone (gsm), then take out the sim card and put it in my new unlocked cell phone?

And also. I assume there is no way to switch a cdma phone to a gsm phone. Can I at least keep the same phone number?
