    I was looking into buying a new cell phone, the thing is i travel a lot from India, Pakistan, to Canada, and wanted to know whether to get a quad-band or a tri-band.

    I tried other posts but they just couldn't help me.

    Hello there, welcome to CPF.

    I would definitely recommend a quad band 850/900/1800/1900. Canada has both 850 and 1900 and India (as you already know) has 900/1800, so a quad would be a must for you.
