We are switching to ATT and I'm thinking about finally getting a smart phone. I'm very new to this and can't tell the difference between any of them.

-Camera would be nice but not necessary
    - don't go over seas
    -Need to text easily
    -Solid phone conversations
-Navigator sounds convenient but not necessary
-Music is fun but not necessary
    -Not needed for business use
-A good calendar/ organizer is important

    I am deciding between:

    -Palm Centro
-Blackberry pearl (is curve any different?)
    -Blackjack II
    -iPhone

If I decide not to get a smart phone then I will get the LG Shine or the Sony Ericsson W580i

Also, is the price the same monthly for internet on each phone? I would of course, like to keep the price as low and possible. Is it different for the iphone as it is for the other smartphones?

    Thanks so much in advance!

If You Buy A Smartphone Yes, All The Prices Are The Same, And Of Course You Are Practically Obligated To Buy The Media Package So It's Not An Option With The Smartphones

I Have The Lg Shine, Is Really Good, And It Has The Most Elegant Look Of All. Really Good

I Just Added A Line To My Plan So I Just Upgrade To A Family Plan, So I Would Give My Niece My Lg Shine And I Order A Lg Vu.

Now I Would Advised You To Get The Plan And Phone From Amazon.com Becuase The Prices Of The Phones Are A Lot Cheaper Then The Ones In Att.com
For Example The Lg Vu Is Only $0.01 And This Phone Is Not Even An Option In Att.com. I Would Advised To Compare Prices First. Oh Yeah Amazon Has Free Shipping And Handling.

If you're going to use internet, you may want to look at the 3G Iphone or the Blackjack II because of the 3G, but to use the Internet/email features you are looking at a more expensive per month charge.

I'm a big fan of Sony-Ericsson, the w580i is a decent handset and you can get free software to sync with your computer calendar. Nokia also has this feature, but they don't have too many decent phones on at&t. (the N75 isn't bad)

Is there any reason I shouldn't get a iphone? I often see things like "I didn't want to get the iphone because of the monthly service charges" or similar complaints on reviews of phones like the LG Vu or Blackberrys, but when I asked at ATT it seemed that it was the same price of about $30 a month on top of the regular phone bill. Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks so much for your recommendations, I will definitely look on amazon.com.

The Iphone isn't a bad phone, it's just very restrictive IMO. There are many apps for Windows and Symbian phones that are free to download and use, but are not with the Iphone. Add the fact that unless you hack or "jailbreak" your Iphone you are restricted to what you can do with it.

LG shine is a very good phone, and it looks cool, Blackjack II is cool but i find the buttons are a bit small but i do have fat fingers, the HTC tilt is much better suited IMO for a guy like me and my fat fingers, the RIM 8310 is a decent phone, but i'm not a big fan of the crackberries. Iphone is neat but with bluetooth issues and the fact everybody wants one, so they're almost always sold out, and being sold for 2x what their worth on ebay.
