Clear an Apps Cache or Data:
NOTE: In case one of your third party apps doesnt work as intended or takes too much storage, you might be able to fix this by clearing the applications cache / data.
WARNING! Clearing an apps data will remove all personal data stored within the application. This includes profiles, saved games, login and credit card information, settings etc. As such its recommended to try fixing the problems by first clearing the apps cache.
- Open the apps drawer
- Open Settings
- Tap Apps and access the All tab
- Select the desired application
- Tap Clear cache
- If the issues have not been fixed, try Clear data > OK
Clear the Phones Cache Partition:
NOTE: In case your phone doesnt work properly and youre considering master resetting it, you might want to try clearing its cache first. This can have similar results as a factory reset without actually losing your personal data. To wipe the phones cache:
- Turn off the device
- Press and hold Volume Up and Power at the same time
- At the Alcatel logo, release the Power key but keep holding Volume Up
- When the Android system recovery screen appears, release all hardware buttons
- Press Volume down repeatedly in the recovery menu to navigate to and highlight wipe cache partition
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- When the cache partition is wiped you will be prompted with Reboot system now (it should be highlighted)
- Press Power to reboot your device
