Clear an App’s Cache or Data:

NOTE: In case one of your third party apps doesn’t work as intended or takes too much storage, you might be able to fix this by clearing the application’s cache / data.

WARNING! Clearing an app’s data will remove all personal data stored within the application. This includes profiles, saved games, login and credit card information, settings etc. As such it’s recommended to try fixing the problems by first clearing the app’s cache.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Tap “Apps” and access the “All” tab
  4. Select the desired application
  5. Tap “Clear cache”
  6. If the issues have not been fixed, try “Clear data” > “OK”

Clear the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: In case your phone doesn’t work properly and you’re considering master resetting it, you might want to try clearing its cache first. This can have similar results as a factory reset without actually losing your personal data. To wipe the phone’s cache:

  1. Turn off the device
  2. Press and hold “Volume Up” and “Power” at the same time
  3. At the “Alcatel” logo, release the “Power” key but keep holding “Volume Up”
  4. When the “Android system recovery” screen appears, release all hardware buttons
  5. Press “Volume down” repeatedly in the recovery menu to navigate to and highlight “wipe cache partition”
  6. Press “Power” to select the highlighted option
  7. When the cache partition is wiped you will be prompted with “Reboot system now” (it should be highlighted)
  8. Press “Power” to reboot your device

NOTE: In case the issues on your phone still haven’t been fixed and you want to proceed with a factory reset, visit this thread to learn how.
