Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Swipe to “Device” and tap “Battery”
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Battery saver”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can improve battery life by setting your accounts / apps to sync less data.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
  4. Select an account type and clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to disable

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third party apps can affect your phone’s battery life even if you don’t use them, assuming they run regular processes in the background. Thus you can theoretically improve battery life in the long run by disabling or removing unused third party apps

  1. Open the apps drawer and access “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
  3. Swipe to “Downloaded”
  4. Select the desired application
  5. Tap “Force Stop” to disable the app, or tap “Uninstall” > “OK” to remove it

Adjust the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. From the phone’s “Settings” menu, swipe to “Device”
  2. Tap “Display” > “Brightness level”
  3. If necessary, disable “Adaptive brightness”
  4. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease the screen’s power requirements
  5. Return to the “Display” screen and tap “Sleep”
  6. Select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

Disable Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot, and Bluetooth:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features when they are not in use (including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GSP, and Bluetooth) you can help improving battery life.

  1. Swipe the “Notification” bar down from the home screen
  2. Tap the tiles associated with “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth”, and “Location”
  3. To change the way GPS works, go to “Settings” > “Location” > “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
  4. Return to “Settings” and tap “Wireless & Networks”
  5. Tap “Mode” > “Tethering & mobile hotspot”
  6. Disable “Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot”

Switch from 4G to 2G:

  1. Access “Settings”
  2. Under “Wireless & networks”, tap “More”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks”
  4. Tap “Preferred network type”
  5. Select “2G”
