Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings
- Swipe to Device and tap Battery
- Tap Menu > Battery saver
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: You can improve battery life by setting your accounts / apps to sync less data.
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Access Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Accounts
- Select an account type and clear the check boxes next to the sync options you want to disable
Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:
NOTE: Certain third party apps can affect your phones battery life even if you dont use them, assuming they run regular processes in the background. Thus you can theoretically improve battery life in the long run by disabling or removing unused third party apps
- Open the apps drawer and access Settings
- Scroll to Device and tap Apps
- Swipe to Downloaded
- Select the desired application
- Tap Force Stop to disable the app, or tap Uninstall > OK to remove it
Adjust the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- From the phones Settings menu, swipe to Device
- Tap Display > Brightness level
- If necessary, disable Adaptive brightness
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease the screens power requirements
- Return to the Display screen and tap Sleep
- Select a lower value such as 15 seconds
Disable Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot, and Bluetooth:
NOTE: By disabling your phones connectivity features when they are not in use (including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GSP, and Bluetooth) you can help improving battery life.
- Swipe the Notification bar down from the home screen
- Tap the tiles associated with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Location
- To change the way GPS works, go to Settings > Location > Mode and select Battery saving
- Return to Settings and tap Wireless & Networks
- Tap Mode > Tethering & mobile hotspot
- Disable Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot
Switch from 4G to 2G:
- Access Settings
- Under Wireless & networks, tap More
- Tap Mobile networks
- Tap Preferred network type
- Select 2G
