WARNING! When you master reset your phone all of your personal data stored on the internal memory will be deleted, including apps, contacts, media files etc. Furthermore, all settings will be restored to factory values.
NOTE: Before the factory reset, you can visit this thread to learn how to back up and restore data on the ZTE Grand X2.
Factory Reset via Settings:
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Swipe to Personal and tap Backup & reset
- Tap Factory data reset
- If your phone is protected by a PIN, pattern, or password, enter it and proceed
- Tap Reset phone
Factory Reset via Recovery:
NOTE: In case you are unable to factory reset the Grand X2 via settings, you can try applying the reset via Recovery. The recovery menu can be accessed by performing a combination of hardware key presses.
- First, turn off the phone
- Press and hold Power
- After a couple of seconds or so, press and hold Volume Up too
- When the Select Boot Mode menu appears, release both buttons
- From the menu, make sure Recovery Mode is highlighted and press Volume Up to select the option
- Wait for the device to show an android along with a yellow triangle, and then press & release Volume Up and Power at the same time
- The phone should now display the Recovery menu. From here, press Volume Down repeatedly to navigate to and highlight wipe data / factory reset
- Press Power to select the highlighted option
- Wait for your phone to apply the reset, and reboot
Check for OS Updates:
NOTE: After you factory reset your phone, you should check if new firmware updates are available for download. To do so:
- Open the apps drawer
- Access Settings
- Scroll down to System and tap About phone
- Tap System updates and assuming that a new version is available, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install it on the phone
