Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Battery”
  3. Tap “Menu”
  4. Turn on “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “Display” under “Device”
  3. Turn off “Adaptive brightness” if necessary
  4. Tap “Brightness level” and drag the brightness slider towards the left
  5. Tap “Sleep” in the “Display” menu
  6. Select a lower value, such as “15 seconds”

Turn Off Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Drag the “Notification” bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the tiles associated with “Bluetooth”, “Location” and “Wi-Fi” to disable these features
  3. Access “Settings”
  4. Tap “Location” to access more GPS settings, then tap “Mode” > “Battery saving”
  5. To disable Hotspot, return to “Settings”, tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”, and turn off “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your sync settings to sync less data / less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Accounts”
  4. Select an account type
  5. Clear / check the boxes associated with the sync options you want to turn off

Minimize the Use of Third Party Apps:

NOTE: Certain third party apps can affect your phone’s battery life even when not in use. This is because some apps can perform regular background processes. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might be able to improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “Apps” under “Device”
  3. Go to “Downloaded” and select the desired app
  4. Tap “Force stop” / "Disable” to turn off the app
  5. To completely remove the app, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”

Use 2G instead of 4G:

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & networks”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
  4. Tap to enable “2G”
