Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

NOTE: There are various methods of file transfer between your phone and computer, depending on the type of OS you are using. You can visit this page for instructions on how you can use the Microsoft Phone Companion app or the classic Windows Phone app for desktop to transfer files.

To transfer audio files manually without the use of other applications:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Alcatel Fierce XL and PC via USB
  2. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  3. On the PC, locate the audio files you want to use on your phone
  4. Copy the files, and transfer them on the phone storage in the “Ringtones” folder, located in the “Phone” root directory
  5. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage from the system tray
  6. You can now safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Change the Phone Ringtone:

  1. Open the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Tap “Personalization” > “Sound”
  3. Tap the “Ringtone” drop-down menu and select the ringtone you want to use
  4. Optionally, you can turn “Vibrate for calls” On or Off

Change a Contact’s Ringtone:

  1. On the Start screen, tap “People”
  2. Tap the desired contact
  3. Tap “Edit” > “Ringtone”
  4. Choose a ringtone for the selected contact and tap “Save”

Change App Notification Settings:

  1. Tap “Settings” on the Start screen
  2. Access “Personalization”
  3. Tap “Sounds” > “Manage app sounds”
  4. From the menu, adjust the available notification options for each application individually

Show / Hide Lock Screen Notifications:

NOTE: For increase privacy, you can disable notifications on the lock screen, by performing the following:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Access “System”
  3. Tap “Notifications & actions”
  4. Tap “Show notifications on the lock screen”
  5. Tap to enable or disable lock screen notifications
