WARNING! When you master reset your phone, all your personal data located on the devices internal memory will be deleted. This includes ringtones, media files, apps, contacts, downloads, visual voicemail etc. Furthermore, all settings will be restored to factory values.
NOTE: Content stored on the SIM or SD card will not be deleted.
Master Reset via Settings:
- Tap the Settings tile on the Start screen
- Tap System > About
- Tap Reset your phone
- Optionally, select to remove provisioned contend from your workplace
- Tap Yes twice to confirm
- Enter your Microsoft Live password to proceed, and wait for the phone to reset
Master Reset via Hardware Keys:
NOTE: If your phone is unresponsive or crashes / freezes and you are unable to reset it via settings, you can try resetting it using a combination of hardware keys instead. To do this:
- Make sure the phone is turned off
- Press and hold Power
- When the phone vibrates, release the Power key
- Quickly press and hold Volume Down until an exclamation mark appears on the screen, then release the button
- At the exclamation mark screen, press the following buttons in this order:
- Volume Up
- Volume Down
- Power
- Volume down
- The phone will now begin the reset process
- Once the phone finishes the master reset, it will restart in normal mode
