Share iPhone Contacts with Google via iTunes:
NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer connected to the Internet, you can sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. You can then sync the account data, including contacts, with the Plum Gator 3.
- Connect the iPhone to your computer via USB
- Launch iTunes on the computer
- Go to the Info section and enable Sync Contacts With
- Select Google Contacts from the drop-down menu
- Sign in with your Google account or click Configure and select an existing account
- Click Apply to start the sync. Once done, switch to the Plum Gator 3 and register the same Google account
- Set the account so that it can sync contacts with your Android device
Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:
NOTE: If your iPhone contacts are backed up to your iCloud account, you can access the account on a computer connected to the Internet and export the contacts in vCard format for Android use.
- Launch the Internet browser on the computer
- Head down to https://www.icloud.com/ and sign in with your iCloud account
- Access Contacts
- Select the desired contacts and click Settings > Export vCard
- Once the vCard has been downloaded, follow one of the steps below:
- Open the Internet browser on the computer and import the vCard to Google Contacts, or:
- Connect the Plum Gator 3 to your computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage, and use Contacts to import it
Using My Contacts Backup:
NOTE: Although the two methods above require a computer connected to the Internet, alternatively you can share your iPhone contacts using third party apps. My Contacts Backup is a third party app for iOS which can back up and share iPhone contacts via email.
- Open the apps drawer and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
- Launch the app and tap Backup
- After the backup file is done, tap Email
- Compose a new email and make sure the vCard is attached
- Send the email and vCard to your own address
- On the Plum Gator 3, open the email and download the vCard attachment
- Import the vCard to your phonebook using Contacts
Using Send Anywhere:
NOTE: Another third party app you can use for contact transfer is Send Anywhere. The app uses a p2p connection to transfer contacts and other file types without requiring a computer.
- Open the App Store and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
- Visit the Google Play Store and install the same app on the Plum Gator 3
- Launch the app on both smartphones
- On the iPhone, tap Send > Contacts
- Select the desired contact and tap Send
- Lastly, choose the desired transfer method, such as Receive or Generate QR Code and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
