Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
  3. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your Google account
  4. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to be restored automatically when signing in with your Google backup account or when reinstalling apps

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to and tap “Accounts”
  3. Select the desired account type and the account you want to use for syncing
  4. If necessary, enable “Contacts”, then tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts backed up using the method above can be automatically restored the next time you sign in with your Google backup account.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the ZTE Blade Z Max to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media files on the phone storage
  4. Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer
  5. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the ZTE device to your computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the computer storage
  5. Copy and transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
