Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device”
  3. Tap “Battery” > “Menu”
  4. Enable “Battery saver”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
  3. Open “Settings”
  4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
  5. Enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
  6. Tap “Sleep” and select a lower value such as “15 seconds”

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when unused, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Swipe the “Status” bar down on the home screen using two fingers
  2. Tap the “Bluetooth”, “Location” and “Wi-Fi” quick toggles to disable the features
  3. Open “Settings”
  4. Tap “Location” for GPS options
  5. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving”
  6. To disable hotspot, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot”
  8. Set the feature OFF

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
  3. Tap “Mobil networks”
  4. Go to “Preferred network type”
  5. Enable “2G”

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third party applications perform regular background processes that can potentially affect battery life when not actively in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device”
  3. Tap “Apps”
  4. Select “All apps” from the drop-own menu at the top
  5. Select the desired app
  6. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop”
  7. Alternatively, tap “Uninstall” to remove the app from the phone

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing your accounts’ sync settings to reduce sync, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal”
  3. Tap “Accounts”
  4. Select the desired account
  5. Disable the desired sync settings to reduce sync

Keep the OS Up to Date:

NOTE: Software updates can include battery life improvements, and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Scroll to and tap “About phone”
  3. Tap “System updates”
  4. Check if a new update is available
  5. If applicable, follow the on-screen steps to download and apply available updates. NOTE: the update process will require at least one reboot
