Back Up and Restore App Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
  3. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your backup account
  4. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be automatically restored the next time you sign in with the backup account or reinstall backed up applications

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Launch “Settings”
  2. Go to “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the desire account
  4. Ensure the “Contacts” check box is ticked
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts can be restored the next time you sign in with the backup account.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Copy the media files from the phone
  5. Transfer the files in the desired backup location on the computer storage
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media file backups on the computer storage
  5. Copy and paste the backup files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder or the directory of origin
  6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
