Back Up and Restore App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Personal
- Tap Backup & Reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be automatically restored when signing in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open Settings
- Access Accounts
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for contact syncing
- Ensure the Contacts tick box is checked
- Tap Menu > Sync now
NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data, including contacts, with the Android phone.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC
- Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the Media folder or the directory from where they originate
- Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB
